School Threat Assessment


Mission Statement: It is the responsibility of Harrisburg Community Unit # 3 Staff to attempt to

identify any threat that would not be conducive to a good learning environment for Students. A

Threat is an expression of intent to physically or sexually harm someone. The threat may be

spoken, written or gestured. Threats can be expressed directly or indirectly to the victim or

others and can be explicit or implied.

Definition

Threat Assessment Team (TAT)- A Threat Assessment Team is a group of officials that convene

to identify, evaluate, and address threats or potential threats to school security. Threat

Assessments Teams review incidents of threatening behavior by students (current and former),

parents, school employees or other individuals.
