Seniors planning to go to college need to complete the FAFSA application.  Use your parents 2019 tax returns. Seniors have to complete a FAFSA or have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver to receive their high school diploma.  If a senior is 18 they can sign the waiver. 

 

SIC is offering a new program for high achieving high school students that are Juniors or Seniors.  The program is called ACE: Accelerated College Experience.  This program is a one-semester university prep program for high school scholars.  See Mr. McKinstry in the guidance office for more information. 

 

 

 

 

Scholarships

Golden Apple Scholars Program.  Students interested in a teaching career can apply for this program.  See Mr. McKinstry for information.  Deadline to apply is April 1, 2021.

 

StudentScholarships.org – This website has at least 26 different scholarships that students can apply for.  Go to https://studentscholarships.org for more information.

 

Gulley, Turner and Lambert Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are going to play a sport in college, who do not have a full-ride and have good grades.  The scholarships are worth $500 a piece.  See Mr. McKinstry for an application.

 

Arthur K. and Sylvia S. Lee Scholarship

The Arthur K. and Sylvia S. Lee Scholarship Foundation is offering potential financial aid to assist students in your community to attend local community colleges.  Applications may be obtained online from the Foundation website (www.akleefoundation.org) and submitted via email along with applicant’s most current high school transcript.  See Mr. McKinstry if you have any questions.

 

Farm Credit Illinois Scholarship  - Seniors planning to study agriculture in college.  Scholarships are for $2,000.  Apply at www.farmcreditIL.com/scholarship.

 

Bold.org – Students can go to bold.org and set up an account and apply for hundreds of different scholarships. 

 

GoingMerry Scholarships – Students can go to goingmerry.com and create an account.  Then they can apply to any scholarship on this website.

 

Legence Bank Academic Scholarship – Legence Bank will award 5 scholarships to high school seniors in southern Illinois.  The value of the scholarship is $500.  The deadline to apply is Friday, March 26th at 3 p.m.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

 

Legence Bank FFA Scholarship  - Legence Bank & American Farm Mortgage will award 5 scholarships to high school FFA seniors in southern Illinois. The value of the scholarship is $500.  The deadline to apply is Friday, March 26th at 3 p.m.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

SIU Credit Union Scholarship – The SIU Credit Union is offering five $1,000 scholarships.  To obtain the scholarship application go to www.siuc.org/about/scholarship or stop by a local SIU Credit Union branch. Deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

 

Knights of Columbus-Harrisburg –Qualifications for the Knights of Columbus Scholarship are:

1.     Be a graduating Senior

2.     Be ranked in the top third of their class.

3.     Be a practicing Catholic at St. Mary’s Harrisburg, St. Mary’s Eldorado, or St. Joseph’s Elizabethtown.

 

The American Society for Quality (ASQ) Scholarship – They will offer a $500 scholarship to a high school senior graduating from a high school in the Evansville-Owensboro Section 0915.  Applications and all materials are due by March 31, 2021.  Details about the scholarship and application forms are available for download on the ASQ Section website at http://www.asq0915.com.  Information is available in the Guidance Office.

 

Gallatin-Saline Retired Teachers Association Scholarship – This scholarship is for students that are interested in becoming a teacher.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Applications have to be postmarked no later than March 15th.

 

Rotary International District 6510 Foundation Scholarship – The Rotary International District 6510 Foundation will fund two scholarships to an accredited College or Trade School.  Awards will be $2,500 each.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications are due April 1, 2021. 

 

Harrisburg Rotary Scholarship – Applications are available in the guidance office.  Applications are due March 29, 2021.

 

Farm Bureau Scholarship – Applications are available at https://form.jotform.com/Salgalfbmanager/Saline-County-Farm-Bureau.

 

Harrisburg Kiwanis Club - Will offer a scholarship(s) to Southeastern Illinois College to a graduating senior from Harrisburg High School.  Applications must be completed and returned to the HHS Guidance Counselor by March 29, 2021

 

2021 Sons of the American Legion Bill Henshaw Scholarship – Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The application must be postmarked by Monday, April 12, 2021.

 

The Egyptian Health Department Scholarship – Applications for a one time $500 scholarship is available in the Guidance Office.  Completed applications must be received by April 16, 2021.

 

Wabash Area Development, Inc. (WADI) is offering seven scholarships in the amount of $1,150 to be made available to income eligible students.  Completed applications have to be turned in to any WADI office by 5p.m. on April 15, 2021.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
