Welcome to Harrisburg CUSD #

One of the most difficult decisions of a district is making a call on in-climate weather. Many factors go into that decision each day. Driving roads the night before or early morning, watching weather predictions and forecasts, and discussions with other area superintendents. Once we take all those factors into account, we then have to make a decision for Harrisburg Unit # 3.

When the decision is made that we feel conditions allow us to be in attendance, we would still caution parents to make their decision to send or not send your child based on what you consider the best interest of you and your family. The safety of your children is our main concern and if you feel the conditions merit you keeping your child at home, we encourage you to do that. Your child will have an excused absence and can make up any work he/she misses for the day.  Their safety is far more important to us than them being in attendance on a day with questionable conditions

Please contact my office (618) 253 -7637 if you have any questions regarding this matter.
